Derrick Rose Manila Tour 2013 HIGHLIGHTS

First off, we'd like to thank the good people over at Adidas Philippines and Green Bulb for inviting us again. We haven't missed a single Adidas event for a while now and we're truly blessed.

If you're a Pinoy hoops fan, you probably like Derrick Rose and can't wait for his return to MVP form. Last September 14, 15 and 16, the former MVP went around Manila to attend a series of events that peaked at the Smart Araneta Coliseum where the Adidas 3 on 3 event was held. The SoleReapers team got slapped with a media pass and I must say the court side seat wasn't bad at all. Everyone was anxious for DRose's arrival but the wait wasn't that bad as Arellano University tried to beat team Thailand's giant 3 in the finals. All the games were heated and intense including that heart-stopping finals showdown. Team Thailand's height proved to be a problem as Arellano's sharp shooters failed to send the game into overtime.

When DRose arrived, people went ape shit. You just know that everyone missed seeing him on the NBA court last season and people were just excited to see him at full strength. He teamed up with the gorgeous Isabelle Daza to battle Phil and James Younghusband in the Shooting Stars Challenge. The footballers fought gallantly but would eventually lose to Chicago's finest and his Filipina muse. Next up was the 3 Point Shootout against Chris Tiu and Josh Urbiztondo. Derrick was holding off for sure and wasn't shooting at 100% as he would eventually lose to 3 point specialist Chris Tiu. The event was capped off by a 3 on 3 game between JC Intal, Chris Tiu and Josh Urbiztondo against Derrick Rose and Team Thailand. Derrick absolutely crushed the PBA stars with his explosive quickness and sharpshooting from the beyond the arc. Fans were going nuts after every vicious crossover, acrobatic layup and three point bombs! DRose is finally back and we can't wait for the season to start!
