Adipure Crazy Quick FULL PERFORMANCE REVIEW + on feet video
This shoe is almost two decades in the making. Yes, that's right, this is a product of years of Adidas technology that started with the original Feet You Wear line. So from a young superstar like Kobe Bryant, this tech is now perfected and passed on to rising stars John Wall and Ricky Rubio. Know more and read the full review below...![]() |
| Traction before use... |
The upper is made of the same TechFit material found in Adidas training shoes. This is the first time it was used on a basketball shoe and it feels absolutely soft and comfortable- while being supportive. Adidas did a smart thing by applying generous amounts of reinforcement where it is needed. So while it feels like a sock (it's softer than the engineered mesh on the Kobe 8), it still keeps your foot within the midsole. I can see the material retaining it's shape for about 4-6 months of continuous playing and surprisingly, getting stepped on doesn't destroy the soft upper. Breathability on the other hand is only helped by the actual TechFit upper by being moisture-wicking. So even if there is no actual air flow/vents, your feet will not get hot or too wet.
The "etc" lining also helps regulate foot temperature by reducing friction. So all in all, the materials used on the entire shoe will allow for a comfortable atmosphere even without the big holes provided by the Adidas Sprintweb.
Cushioning: 4/5
Being a very flexible and low to the ground shoe, cushioning will naturally be minimal. It has ample cushioning on the heel area but it gets drastically thinner as you move towards the toe. It's very similar to the DRose 3's cushioning but a bit more bouncier. So right now it comes down to preference, do you want a well-cushioned shoe or do you need something that can help you get "quick". Yes, the shoe actually helps you get quicker because of the setup of the traction pods and segmentation. It simply works because it lets you cover a ton of ground when moving around and you're covered virtually 100% of the time. So, when you make a quick step or a sudden change in direction, you can do so without losing any time. So the "crazy quick" part really stems from the amazing midsole setup and generous traction. Everything should be perfect for this to work so if ever they placed sucky traction, the whole "quick" setup will not work. So being the most wear-tested shoe in Adidas history, they managed to make everything perfect top to bottom.
Support and Court Feel: 4.5/5
Ok, so court feel gets a perfect score here but support kind of drags the score down a bit. Don't get me wrong, support is top notch but heel lock down left me wanting a bit more. The shoe just gets everything else right because of the tight, form fitting upper and being low to the ground. So when you go lower, the lesser amount of risk to injuries you will have. That's being really critical on my part though, because the overall experience is secure, I just want the SprintFrame to be a bit more closer to my heel and cup it firmly. Long story short, this is probably the best shoe in terms of court feel, period.
Traction: 5/5
Traction is freakin' amazing! It's one of the main ingredients to the whole CrazyQuick concept so no wonder it's perfect. The shoe just sticks you onto the floor and no matter what move you make, there will always be sticky traction supporting you. It's softer than the Rose 3's traction but a bit more durable than the Crazy Light 2's. Again, traction is perfect.
Overall: 4.375 / 5
If you're a quick guard/forward, this shoe is for you. The experience is just different when you have it on and you're simply free to move without thinking of losing your footing. This shoe is mind-blowingly fun to wear on court. I just can't guarantee it to be VERY durable because of the nature of the material and the very pliable traction. I will say this, this is the best Adidas shoe I've played in so far, there's just something about the setup that makes your movements sharper. Enough of this review, TRY IT in-store! If you like it, buy it, no harm in checking them out.
