Neat Sneaks! Gilas PILIPINAS Fiba Asia Edition
To start off the Neat Sneaks! series- we will feature what our National Team wore in the Fiba Asia Championships!
The Philippine National Basketball Team- the Smart GILAS team led by Marcus Douthit, reigning Philippine Basketball Association League MVP Jimmy Alapag, Cio Lassiter and team captain Chris Tiu recently lost to South Korea. It was the game that could've put our basketball program back on top of the world basketball scene. Yes, I didn't say Asia, I said the world. We've just proven that we're one of the top teams in Asia, we came less than 10 minutes close to becoming Asia's top 2 and securing a spot in the London Olympics Qualifying games. We could've seen Asi Taulava banging it up with Dirk Nowitzki or JV Casio cashing a three on Carlos Arroyo's mug.

But we can't cry on what could've been. As Filipinos all we can do now is celebrate what is. Our men's basketball program is currently atop Asian heavyweights and we will now be feared going forward. Maybe a certain Ravena can finally bring us to the promised land. Who knows? For now, let's check the awesome sneakers these warriors laced up for the Fiba Asia Championships held in Wuhan. There's an abundance of Kobe VI and Nike Zoom Hyperfuse but there's a few notable Jordan Brand sightings as well!
